Course Title:Media Skills I, II, III


Credit:1 elective unit


Course Overview:
As a media assistant you will work independently in the media center one period each day.You will be trained in the procedures for locating media materials of all types and for circulating materials among students and faculty. You will also be assigned individual duties. The smooth operation of the media center depends upon each assistant doing his/her part.
In addition, you will be given assignments and/or tests each marking period.These will help your knowledge base grow to assist you in your own academic studies and will also give you the information you will need to assist students and faculty with their information needs.

Grading Policy:
1/3 of grade—Tests/assignments--See marking period calendar.
1/3 of grade—Book Check--Books will be shelved daily. Shelves will be checked once per marking period.
1/3 of grade—Evaluation Rubric

Expectations:
1. Media students are independent learners who do not need to be reminded of assignments and duties.
2. Media students stay in the media center unless given permission to leave.
4. Media students treat everyone with respect.
5. Media students work quietly.
